ISLAMABAD - Brother of a sitting MNA of PML-N landed two bikers in hospital in critical condition on Monday night.

According to police, Zulfiqar Gilani, brother of MNA Syed Athar Ali Shah Gilani, violated Radio Pakistan traffic signal and hit two bikers who received critical injuries and were rushed to Polyclinic.

According to traffic warden Tamrez Khan, who was eyewitness of the incident, Zulfiqar violated the signal and rammed his car bearing registration number PKB-5900 into bikers. “The driver of car violated the signal and hit the bikers. I’m witness to the accident. I can even testify before the court that it was car driver’s fault which resulted into horrible accident,” Khan told The Nation.

No FIR was registered against the accused till filing of this report.


An American woman was deprived of cash, mobile phone and ATM card in a broad daylight on Sunday in a posh sector of the federal capital.

According Shalimar police, the victim, Katherine, residing in F10/2, was deprived of her purse by some unknown bikers close to the F-10 Markaz market. After the incident, the criminals fled from the scene, the police said.

The local police registered the case under section 382 PPC and started investigating the case. However, no arrest was made till the filing of the report.

Meanwhile, two bikers shot dead a teenager in an attempt to snatch his cash and mobile phone in Ali Pur, a suburb of the city. The incident occurred when the victim offered resistance, the local police said. The accused fled from the scene soon after the incident.

The police have filed a case and are investigating.
