After the completion of all formalities, Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif will distribute cheques among the first successful applicants of the Prime Minister’s Youth Business Loan (PMYBL) programme in Islamabad on June 4, 2014.

This was possible with the untiring efforts of the PMYBL Team of National Bank of Pakistan (NBP), said Syed Ahmed lqbal Ashraf while addressing a press briefing on Monday.

It is also worth mentioning that the Prime Minister has appointed Maryam Nawaz, who along with her team has been working tirelessly for the youth of Pakistan, as chairperson of the PMYBL programme. Her guidance and encouragement has been highly appreciated by NBP team.

The overwhelming majority of applicants are seeking funds for agriculture related projects, a key activity of the bank which has a near 60% share of the total amount disbursed in this sector amongst all the designated financial institutions. This vast agriculture related portfolio of the bank has the lowest NPL ratio as well.

National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) was assigned a mammoth task of distributing application forms throughout Pakistan, receiving the completed forms, scrutinizing and approving the names of applicants who have successfully met the criteria of the loan. After nearly 60,000 applications the first batch will receive their cheques on 4th June.
