Islamabad - The Central Development Working Party (CDWP) will consider execution of 17 projects in its June 8 meeting, including execution of the Gawadar-Nawabshah LNG Terminal and Pipeline Project, it was learnt through reliable sources here on Thursday.

The total cost of all the projects combined is Rs1078189.6 million, including the foreign exchange component (FEC)of Rs248352.65 million. Earlier, the meeting was scheduled for 2nd June, but was postponed because of the upcoming budget.

According to the list of projects available with The Nation, Gwadar–Nawabshah LNG Terminal and Pipeline Project (GNP) is one of them, work on which would start soon and is likely to be completed by December 2017.

Under the plan, a LNG terminal will be set up at Gwadar Port and 700 km long pipeline would be laid from Gwadar to Nawabshah.

The plan also includes another 70-80 km long pipeline to be added to the original pipeline to connect it to the Iranian gas pipeline.

The government-to-government agreement has already been signed with China and a Chinese company, China Petroleum Pipeline Bureau, in this connection.

The other projects include construction 220kV Mirpurkhas Sub-station, along with Associated Transmission Lines to be laid at a cost of Rs4153 million, with a FEC of Rs1879m; 220 kV Dera Ismail Khan – Zhob Double Circuit Transmission Lines along with 220 kV Zhob Sub-station to be built at a total cost of Rs7582.89m, and having the FEC of Rs3147.79m; Darwat Dam Project to be completed at a total cost of Rs11767.87 million, including the FEC of Rs1980.05 million; Sindh Resilience Project (SRP)to be completed at a total cost of Rs2495.80 million.

Similarly the list also includes construction of 100 dams in tehsils Dubandal, Gulistan, Qilla Abdullah and Chaman, District Qilla Abdullah at a total cost of Rs1591.564 million.

Procurement of 75 (55 Nos 4000 – 4500 HP & 20 Nos 2000–2500 HP) Diesel Electric Locomotives at the total cost of Rs45796.075 million, and having the FEC of Rs31829.492 million, is also part of the list.

The upgradation of Railways existing Mainline-1 (ML-1) and establishment of a dry port near Havelian at the cost of Rs870472m, having FEC of Rs73988m; Hasanabdal (Burhan) – Havelian Motorway, E-35 (59.1 km)at the cost of Rs34365m, including the FEC of Rs7592.778m; improvement and widening of N-45 (130.22km) at the cost of Rs19643 million; construction of Nahqi Tunnel, Mohmand Agency, FATA at the total cost of Rs2428.338 million and construction of accommodation for Bhittai Rangers in Karachi at the cost of Rs2870.49m are all included in the list.

The rehabilitation of NTDC System in southern part of the country, to avoid frequent tripping at a total cost of Rs1064 million is also on the agenda of CDWP.
