LAHORE - Parliamentary Secretary for Health Khawaja Imran Nazir yesterday said provision of clean drinking water is essential for a healthy society and the government was implementing a mega project in this regard.
Talking to APP, Khawaja Imran Nazir said 40 more tube-wells would be installed in the provincial metropolis for ensuring continuous supply of drinking water to the citizens till June 30.
He said that following the direction of Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif, ‘Saaf Pani Project’ would be implemented in a few days.
“Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) had been directed to install tube-wells in various areas of the city,” he added.
Nazir said that work on the potable water project would be accelerated within few days, adding that no negligence would be tolerated in implementation of the public welfare project.
“The PML-N government is working round-the-clock for coping with the energy crisis,” he said. He expressed the hope that energy issue would be addressed soon.
