QUETTA-At least seven people including the suicide bomber were killed and seven others wounded some of them critically, in a suicide blast in a local seminary (Madrassah) in Killi Karbala of Pishin area, some 60km north of Quetta on Monday. According to police sources, the suicide bomber attempted forced entry into Madrassah Nizamia, a girls' Madrassah located in Killi Karbala village, where the Provincial Amir of Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam (JUI-F) Maulana Muhammad Khan Sheerani, Deputy Speaker Balochistan Assembly Matiullah Agha and provincial minister Maulana Abdul Bari Agha were attending a degree distribution ceremony. As JUI-F leaders left Madrassah suicide bomber blew himself up, which resulted in on the spot death of four people including suicide bomber and critically injured several others. However, JUI-F leaders escaped unhurt in the attack. Local police and people of the area took the injured to Pishin Hospital for first medical aid where three of injured persons succumbed to injuries on way to the hospital. The other injured were shifted to Quetta for further treatment. Names of deceased were identified as Jalath Khan, Hafiz Muhammad Naseem, Haji Nizam-ud-din, Qari Bismillah and Hafiz Abdul Zaheer. The deceased were stated to be instructors and workers of the Madrassah while some students of Madrassah were also amongst the injured persons. Talking to newsmen, CCPO Quetta Nawabzada Humayun Jogezai said that body parts of suicide bomber including head had been collected from blast site for further investigations. He said apparently it was a suicide attack which was made by a 16 to 17 years old boy. Responding to a question, he said that it would be premature to say that main target of suicide bomber was JUI-F leaders. The sources said that suicide bomber had entered into the Madrassah and was walking inside when he was stopped for search. He blew himself up before search. However, at that time JUI-F leaders had left Madrassah. The blast also damaged a portion of room in Madrassah. Chief Minister Balochistan Nawab Muhammad Aslam Khan Raisani strongly condemned the suicide attack on Madrassah and directed law enforcement agencies to take stern action against anti-social elements. The charged JUF-activists in Pishin and Quetta after suicide attack took out rallies. They gathered at main bazaar of Pishin and Jinnah Road in Quetta where they burnt tyres and blocked the vehicular traffic. They were chanting slogans and demanding for immediate arrest of the culprits. The JUI-F activists also forced shopkeepers in Liaquat Bazaar and Shara-e-Iqbal in Quetta to close their shops. Addressing a Press conference JUI leaders Maulana Abdul Waseh and Hafiz Hamdullah strongly condemned the attack on JUI leaders and gave a province-wide shutterdown strike against the attack on Tuesday (today). APP adds: President Asif Ali Zardari has strongly condemned the suicide blast at a Madrassa for girls at Pishin in Balochistan province on Monday. The President in a message expressed his grief and shock over the loss of lives and injuries caused by the tragic happening. He reiterated that such cowardly acts would not dent the government's resolve to fight terrorism and extremism in all its forms and manifestations. The President directed the provincial government to take all measures to reach the culprits behind this terrorist act and take them to task. He also asked the provincial government to ensure the provision of best medical care to the injured.
