Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry on Wednesday stressed the need for discourage redtap culture especially in pension cases and stressed the need for strict decisions for provision of quick and inexpensive justice to litigants. The Chief Justice passed these remarks while hearing a case regarding the unpaid pension of late government employee Fareedullah here at SC Registry. The division bench consisting of Chief Justice Supreme Court, Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry and Justice Chaudhry Ijaz Ahmed upheld the decision of Peshawar High Court regarding payment of late Fareedullahs pension to his family. In his remarks, the CJP said redtape culture would not be allowed in pension cases and strict decisions have to be taken with an objective for provision of speedy justice to litigants.
