LAHORE – Anti Corruption Establishment (ACE) has registered a case against four officials of Excise and Taxation (E&T) over transferring a snatched car in the name of a citizen, sources in ACE said on Saturday.  They said that Yaseen Khan resident of Johar Town passed an application to Director General, ACE that his car was snatched on gun point by dacoits and after that he had requested Director, Motor Registration Authority (MRA) not to transfer his vehicle in the name of any other person. But Data Entry Operator of MRA branch, Hafiz Imran, Clerk Muhammad Saqlain, Muhammad Iqbal and Umar Draz transferred the same car in the name of Sohail Anjum. Yaseen alleged that four officials received huge bribe from Sohail for transfer of car. On direction of DG ACE, Anti Corruption Lahore Region has registered a case against accused. No arrest was made so far and investigations are underway.
ACE has registered another FIR against Sub Inspector of CIA Anti Car Lifting on his alleged involvement in snatching a vehicle from a citizen with the help of his accomplices. Muhammad Ishaq in an application said that he had financial dispute with Dilshad Masih and Mujahid Sajjad Butt. CIA Sub Inspector Malik Younis made a phone call to Ishaq and inform him that an application was received in his office against him (Ishaq). He further asked Ishaq to meet him to clarify his position at a private place. When Ishaq reached the venue told by Sub Inspector. Malik Younis snatched his vehicle and ask him to go home.  ACE has registered an FIR against Sub inspector Younis and started investigations.

Inquiry: Anti Corruption Establishment has started inquiry against officials of Revenue department on transferring a piece of state land of worth millions of rupees in the name of a citizen illegally, said an officer of ACE on Saturday. He said that the scam was unearthed when one Muhammad Abbas passed an application to DG ACE and pointed out that some Patwaris, Qanoogo and other officials of revenue department has transferred a state land of worth millions in the name of Muhammad Ashfaq. On DG ACE has directed staff to start initiate inquiry into the issue. It merits mentioning here that Settlement and Rehabilitation Commission has already started three inquires against said accused.
