LAHORE: The Anjuman-e-Tajiran Lahore held a meeting on Saturday which was attended by trade representatives from Kasur, Sheikhupura, Lahore and Nankana Sahib. The meeting unanimously elected Amjad Nazir But of Sheikhupura as Lahore division president, Sheikh Sajid of Lahore as chairman, Asim Shafiq of Lahore as general secretary and Engineer Mehmood of Nankana Sahib as SVP.
Central general secy presiding over the meeting informed that APAT is going to organize traders’ national convention on March 8, which will be attended by trade bodies’ representatives from all provinces, AJK and GB. He pointed out that representative of the National Assembly as well as Senate’s standing committee for commerce have also been invited in this convention. The convention will greet the govt for approval of trade organization bill 2012, besides taking oath of the new office.
The convention will be attended by Senator Islamuddin Sheikh, Senator Ishaq Dar, Senator Haji Ghulam Ali and Khurram Dastgir. The participants of the meeting vowed to make the traders convention a successful event, ensuring full participation from across the country. The meeting was also attended by Punjab president Mehboob Sirki, Lahore president Shahid Bilal, Rana Shehbaz and Shahid Iqbal Dar. Naeem Mir asked divisional heads to complete procedure of organizational activities as early as possible.
He said that APAT has already launched a special drive for the formation of chambers of small traders.
The trade leader observed that approval of trade organization bill 2012 has given the chance for the formation of chambers of small traders and now small traders will not allow the chambers of elite to deprive them of their rights.
