KARACHI – Transporter’s bodies have appreciated Prime Minister Raja Pervaiz Ashraf’s decision regarding withdrawal hike in petroleum products, here on Saturday.
Leaders of the United Goods transporters Alliance (UGTA) in their joint statement said that the decision of withdrawal of petroleum product price by government is a favourable step in the larger interest of trade, industry and the masses. They appreciated the decision of PM and said that government has gained loosed moral in people due to this good move.
Karachi Transport Ittehad (KTI) also appreciated the decision of Government and said that already public transport fares are on peak level and the recent price increase could further affect masses.
Passenger of various bus stop of the metropolis said that the cost of logistics and transport used in handling import and export would also come down. They told that people would have a better purchasing power due to direct and indirect affects of the cut in petroleum prices.
They said the reduction in fuel prices would encourage trade and industry. The cut in prices of petroleum products will not only provide relief to the inflation-hit masses but also benefit almost all sectors of the economy” they added.
