LAHORE – PPP Central Punjab President Manzoor Wattoo has said the the Gwadar Port accord with China and the Pak-Iran gas pipeline were two “big sixers” hit by the PPP government.

“These agreements will help improve national as well as regional economy,” he said while talking to the media at the PPP Secretariat on Saturday.

Wattoo he praised President Asif Ali Zardari for taking the courageous steps of handing over the port to China and signing the gas line agreement with Iran. He said the president took that step defying resistance from the world.

He said the president and his Iranian counterpart would jointly inaugurate the Pak-Iran gas pipeline on March 11. Criticising the Punjab government, he said it was making lists of favourite officers to upcoming elections.

He blamed the chief minister for having links with the banned outfits and said after the links stand proved, no justification remains for the CM to stay in the office any more.

Wattoo said the prime minister had approved flat rates for tubewells on the demand of farmers and its summary would be presented to the cabinet on Wednesday for further process. Earlier, a 14-member delegation of All Pakistan Shia Federation met the minister and briefed him about sectarian killings.
