Lahore police has launched a quick response force (QRF) of a hundred trained men to fight against terrorism and street crime. This welcome step by the Lahore Police is exactly what is needed. This force has been placed at the disposal of a number of police stations from where they will patrol various areas round the clock.
This force would be better utilised if it were a separate entity on its own. It should have its own administrative set up. It should be housed in a separate building and lead by a senior police officer. They should be given brand new motor cycles and sophisticated weapons. It is advisable in the larger interest of public safety and security that government may launch such quick Rapid force (QRF) in all big cities of the country.
