HAFIZABAD
More than 4,000 litres of diesel oil were wasted when a tanker carrying the diesel stock overturned on Gujranwala Road near Hafizabad College of Commerce, due to deep depressions.
On receiving information, Rescue 1122, the DCO and other officers rushed to the spot to prevent any unpleasant incident. The Rescue 1122 mixed some chemical in the diesel oil to prevent the likely fire incident.
It is to be noted that laying of drains and metalling of road from General Bus Stand to Jinnah Chowk had been started about seven months back but the contractor has failed to complete the project on one pretext or the other. As a result of which there are deep ditches and potholes on the road which have been causing day-to-day incidents and traffic hazards. The citizens have called on the district administration to ensure completion of the project at an earliest to prevent further incidents.
