HEC reviews agricultural engineering curriculum

ISLAMABAD - A meeting of HEC’s National Curriculum Revision Committee (NCRC) in the discipline of agricultural engineering, to review and update curriculum of Agricultural Engineering, was held at Higher Education Commission’s centre in Peshawar.
Previously, the agriculture-engineering curriculum was revised and circulated by HEC in 2010. The committee thoroughly reviewed and updated the curriculum at bachelors and masters level including knowledge about latest developments and innovations in the field of engineering around the globe. Some new courses, as per future requirements, were also coined and incorporated in undergraduate and graduate curricula. To keep the curriculum at par with HEC and Pakistan Engineering Council guidelines, a representative from PEC was also included in the committee.
It was also emphasized that for various courses requiring hands-on experience, the students will be required to draw maps by hand besides using simulation techniques. It was recommended that HEC should provide funds for establishment of state-of-the-art laboratories and libraries in the universities.
