LAHORE - Newly-elected Lahore High Court Bar Association President Peer Masood Chishti has said that the legal fraternity will keep continue opposition of establishment of military courts.
He expressed these views while speaking at a ceremony held in the honor of newly-elected cabinet of the bar on Monday.
Masood said that they would pursue the case in the SC with full spirit. He urged the rulers and the Chief Justice of Pakistan to make their respective institutions stronger for national interest.
The lawyers would play their role for strengthening judiciary and democracy but they would not accept the military courts. Bar’s secretary Ahmad Qayum and other office bearers were also present on the occasion.
Predecessor body of the bar had arranged a ceremony for the successor cabinet.
