MARDAN - Malgari Ustazan Mardan on Monday staged a protest rally outside the Press Club against the termination of female teachers and demanded their restoration, interference of Independent Monitoring Committees (IMU) in the schools and against polio duty.
Addressing the rally, Hafiz ur Rehman, district president of Malgari Ustazan, Usman Sangar, Provincial Vice President, Jamseed Khan, General Secretary, Noor Rehman, Ghazi Gul, Imtiyaz Ahmed and other office bearers said that the district administration had terminated 160 female teachers for not doing the polio duty.
They demanded that Execute District Officer (EDO) to immediately restore them, otherwise they would stage a protest rally in front of her office.
They added that polio is not their duty as it is related to the health department and there are large numbers of employees in health department. They also announced that they will not take part in the polio campaign. They asked the provincial government to monitor the schools established Independent Monitoring Units (IMUs) in the district.
On the occasion, speakers also strongly criticized the Independent Monitoring Units (IMU) and said that they without any reason take action against the teachers.
