DUBAI - The Department of Justice of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on Monday raised three objections to the extradition of Uzair Baloch to Pakistan.
The Pakistan Embassy is currently making efforts to resolve the objections for his early extradition, reported a private news channel. Baloch will be produced in Dubai prosecution on Thursday (today).
Pakistani officials were optimistic that they would get custody of Baloch following a local court decision that was expected on Sunday, however, no decision was reached on that day.
Following the hearing, Baloch was taken back to prison under high security. Uzair Baloch was presented before the court under security of UAE Special Forces. He has hired one of UAE’s top lawyers to contest his case and has reportedly paid AED 500,000 in fees.
