On Eidul-Adha, all Muslims wake up early in the morning, take bath and put on their best available clothes. They then go for Eid Prayer in the nearest mosque of village or town with reciting the Takbir of Tashriq in a loud voice.

Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar, La Ilaha Illallahu, Wallahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar wa lillahilhamd.

(There is no god but Allah and Allah is the greatest, Allah is the greatest and to Allah belongs all praise.)

On 10 Zulhijjah Muslims celebrate this Eid and sacrifice their animals in the commemoration of Hazrat Ibraheem(A.S) and his son Hazrat Ismail(A.S). Almost 100 million animals are slaughtered throughout in the world. Same in Pakistan 10 million animals are slaughtered in which cow, goat, sheep, ram, camel and different many others Halal animals are involved.

Eidul-Adha is the second biggest religious festival in which rich people offers sacrifices their domestic animals and deliver their meat to poor people. The very important theme of this festival is; it binds a rich with a poor and create the sense of humanity, harmony, love and brotherhood between them, also enhance the faith, love and commitment towards Allah.

Eidul-Adha is not a yield of today, but it is being celebrated for 4,000 years. It has a story of unimaginable act when Hazrat Ibrahim(A.S) saw a dream, in which Hazrat Ibrahim(A.S) sacrifices his beloved son Hazrat Ismail(A.S). The dreams of Prophets are always considered the revelation of Allah. Then Hazrat Ibrahim(A.S) resolute that he must sacrifices his son for the sake of Allah. First Hazrat Ibrahim(A.S) wanted take opinion to his son Hazrat Ismail(A.S) about this. On asking Hazrat Ismail replied, “Father do what you have been commanded by Allah. You will find me Inshallah (God willing), to be very patient. Hazrat Ibrahim(A.S) not show sadness a bit even hesitation and laid down himself in prostrate position. In this way Hazrat Ibrahim(A.S) started to cut the neck of Hazrat Ismail(A.S). A miracle was happened when Hazrat Ibrahim(A.S) saw that his son Hazrat Ismail(A.S) was standing near him alive and a slayed ram was laying before him.

And at this time, Allah sent a revelation through Hazrat Jibrail(A.S) that; Allah accepted your sacrifices. Allah just wanted to trial you. You passed this examination and today Allah is very glad on both of you and a lot of blessing of Allah on you. Both Hazrat Ibraim and Hazrat Ismail (A.S) laid prostrated before Allah and thanked a lot to Allah for His blessing.

That’s why all the Muslims offer prayers in congregation. After offering prayer all Muslims exchange greeting with each others. After that animals are slaughtered and distribute meat to poor and needy people. The division of meat is optional either; they retain all meat at home or deliver it to poor and needy people. But Muslim prefers to divide all the meat into three parts. One retains home and second for relatives, neighbours and friends and third for poor and needy people. It is the great example of harmony, humanity and sacrifices in Islam.

Besides this, on that day millions of Muslims around the world also gathered in Mecca and Medina for offering Hajj and sacrifice animals. When millions of Muslims around the world having different countries, caste, colours and different natures assembled in one place, one purpose and for one God (Allah); creates universal harmony and sense of brotherhood among them.
