NA opp to take up price hike issue

ISLAMABAD: Opposition parties will seek reasons from the government for not arresting continuous hike in inflation in the upcoming National Assembly session.
The PPP with the support of other main opposition parties has decided to raise strong concerns about fast increasing price hike of essential commodities of daily use. The PPP has also submitted a call-attention notice in the National Assembly secretariat about increasing rate of inflation. “The present inflation rate of four per cent is highest in the last 14 months and is a source of grave concern for the public especially low income families,” says a call-attention notice submitted by PPP’s lawmakers. –Staff Reporter

It further mentioned that the government has so far failed to transfer the benefits of low oil prices to the public as people are not getting any respite in commodities/products directly affected by oil prices.
The notice was submitted Shazia Atta Mari, Mir Aijaz Hussain Jakhrani, Imran ZafarLeghari, Syed Naveed Qamar and Dr. Nafisa Shah.
