OUR STAFF REPORTER ISLAMABAD - National Vocational & Technical Education Commission Chairman Muhammad Mumtaz Akhtar Kahloon has said that under the directives of President Asif Ali Zardari, NAVTEC has started establishing 130 new Vocational Training Centers / Institutes in the country. According to the press statement issued by Ministry of Industries and Production, the NAVTEC would establish 130 new Vocational Training Centers / Institutes in different 79 tehsils of Sindh, Punjab, KPK, Balochistan, AJ&K and Gilgit Baltistan, In these 79 tehsils of Pakistan none of the Vocational or Technical Center were existing. This programme would cost Rs 1.17 billion under which 47,765 jobless youths of the country will be trained and made a skilled manpower in next 2.5 years. More than 17,000 youths have been trained so far and 7,298 are under training. Therefore, in compliance of the Presidents directives, the NAVTEC, while taking prompt action, has launched the programme throughout the country. Muhammad Mumtaz Akhtar Kahloon has said that Presidents Fanni Maharat Programme would help in creation of new job opportunities to unskilled and jobless youths of the country. The unskilled manpower will be made useful tool for the economic development of the country through this programme. This will also help in reducing joblessness in the country. Moreover a large number of skilled manpower will be able to get jobs in overseas which would result in rise of foreign remittances to Pakistan. So this programme is a sigh of relief to jobless and hopeless Pakistani youths which is a good step towards poverty alleviation programme, he added.
