LAHORE Terming Abbotabad operation and resultant killing of Al-Qaeda Chief Osama Bin Laden a direct attack on the sovereignty of Pakistan, leadership of mainstream religious and religio-political parties on Monday demanded withdrawal from the so called war against terrorism and return of the US and NATO troops from the region. The parties also criticised Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani for endorsing the US action inside Pakistan and terming death of Bin Laden a big success. Jamat-ud-Dawa offered funeral prayers of Osama Bin Laden at Jamia Masjid Al-Qadsia. Hafiz Muhammad Saeed led the prayers largely attended people from various walks of life. Addressing a hurriedly-called press conference at Mansoora, Jamaat-e-Islami ameer Syed Munawar Hasan said that in case the US had achieved her prime target, she should immediately withdraw from the region. If according to US President Obama, America has achieved her target and killed enemy number one, the US has no justification to stay here any more, he said. However, he said that notwithstanding schedule of the troops withdrawal, the US had no intention to withdraw as she wanted to grab the rich natural resources in the region. Munawar pointed out that the details about Osama Bin Ladens death given by the US had made the entire episode doubtful. The US had not produced any solid evidence of Bin Ladens death that could assure the world about such an incident. He said in the given situation, Bin Ladens dead body should have been the biggest booty for the Washington as had been the case in regard to other important targets in Iraq. Afterwards, he slated the prime ministers statement, saying this showed how the rulers were happy on being US slaves. Islamabads reaction was totally against the national mood as the nation was in a state of shock, he said. He said the Pakistani agencies and national security institutions were kept in the dark about the US operation which was a big question mark on the countrys independence and sovereignty. This showed the national security organisations had failed to provide security to the masses, he said and added that the 9/11 had been a big drama under the cover of which the US started a war against Islam and the Muslim world. Pakistani rulers and armed forces had extended full cooperation to the US in the so-called war on terror but the US had ignored all this and listed the ISI among terrorist organizations, he maintained. The JI chief said the appointment of General David Patreaus as CIA chief was an indication that the US was pursuing the nefarious agenda of destroying this country and the JI had already warned the rulers on this score. He said the US interference in the country had become intolerable and the nation should rise against the rulers who were merely puppets. Terming the killing of Osama Bin Laden martyrdom, ameer Jamat-ud-Dawa Hafiz Muhammad Saeed said that the incident was a part of the crusade launched against Islam and the Muslims. He said that the US had directly attacked Pakistan by carrying out operation in Abbotabad. He said that it was heartening for the Muslim Ummah that Osama embraced martyrdom while valiantly fighting against the US forces. He said that the US desire to capture Osama alive could not fulfill that put a question mark on the success of operation. He said that the entire nation protest against martyrdom of Osama Bin Laden and condemn direct interference of the US in Pakistan. Chairman Sunni Itehad Council Sahibzada Fazle Karim said that the US operation in Abbotabad was an attack on solidarity of the country. He asked the rulers to tell the nation whether the operation was carried out with their permission. He stressed unity among the nation and taking a collective stance to counter propaganda against Pakistan after the killing of Osama Bin Laden. Nazim-e-Ala Jamia Naeemia Raghib Hussain Naeemi said that killing of Osama Bin Laden in Abbotabad has put serious question mark on the performance of federal government and intelligence agencies. He said that the rulers have no reason to remain in power after the death of Bin Laden. He said that killing of Osama Bin Laden has caused irreparable loss to the country while the US gained a lot. He urged political parties to end petty differences and jointly work to take the country out of chaos. He also called for the constitution of an independent commission to probe the incident. Markazi Jamiat Ahle Hadith leader Rana Nasrullah said that announcement of Osama Bin Ladens death was aimed at proving Afghanistan operation a success. He said that there was no logic for the US to continue so called war on terror after announcing death of the most wanted man in the world.
