Four dead in Charsadda suicide hit

CHARSADDA - A suicide bomber rammed his explosive-laden vehicle with a police barrack in Umarzai area of the district, killing at least a woman and three children while 11 others including three policemen sustained injuries. According to sources, three children and their mother were on their way in a rickshaw when the blast occurred. However their identity could not be ascertained till the filling of this report. An Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) and two cops were among the wounded who were identified as ASI Ali Jan and constables Qasim and Tariq Akbar. The sources said that the terrorist attack took place at the time when several policemen were present in the barrack of Umarzai Police Station that razed to the ground due to powerful suicide car bomb blast. The suicide attack triggered panic and gloom among the resident as explosion was heard far from the site besides damaging a nearby mosque and a house.
