ISLAMABAD - Top seed Aqeel Khan, number two Yasir Khan, Davis Cupper M Abid and Imran Shaukat moved in to the Men's singles semi-finals of the 9th Subh-e-Nau National Clay Court Tennis Championship here at Senator Dilawar Abbas Tennis Complex on Wednesday.

Top seed Aqeel Khan beat Usman Ijaz in first quarterfinal. Usman could not match the experience of Aqeel and gone down fighting 3-6 and 0-6. Second seed Yasir Khan beat Sadan-ul-Haq 6-2, 6-2 while M Abid beat Abdul Rehman 6-2, 6-3 and Imran Shaukat shocked Mudassar 6-1, 6-2.

In Boys' U-18 top seed M Mudassar defeated Arham Atique; Ahmad Babar, Kashan-ul-Haq and Raja Shahid also joined Mudassar in the semi-finals. M Muzammil, Nofil Kaleem, Hassan Shaukat and Talha bin Asif also qualified for the semi-finals of Boys U-14.

Aqeel Khan/Yasir Khan pair struggled to beat Khurram/Imran in first semi-final of men's doubles. Aqeel/Yasir lost first set 1-6 but came back 6-4 to force the match in to super tie break, which they won (10-5). Usman Ijaz and Hameed-ul-Haq kept their nerves in another thrilling second men’s doubles semi-final against M Abid and Usman Rafique but Usman/Hameed carved out 7-6 (4), 7-5 win to join Aqeel and Yasir in final.  Iman and Mehak beat their rivals easily and entered the semi-finals of ladies singles. Iman beat Sara 6-0, 6-0, while Mehak downed Maham 6-0, 6-0.
