LAHORE - Paying glowing tributes to national and religious services of late Maulana Abdul Sattar Khan Niazi, TheNation Editor-in-Chief and Nazaria-i-Pakistan Trust (NPT) Chairman Majid Nizami has emphasised on the current leaders of Jamiat Ulma-e-Pakistan (JUP) to continue the mission of late Maulan in the vast interest of the country.

Presiding over ‘Mujahid-e-Millat’ seminar on 11th death anniversary of late religious scholar and politician at Aiwan-e-Karkunan Tehrik-e-Pakistan on Wednesday, he said the services of Maulana Niazi could not be forgotten during Khatm-e-Nabowat Movement and other movements to save the religious image of Pakistan.

The seminar was jointly organised by Nazaria-i-Pakistan Trust (NPT), Pakistan Movement Workers Trust and Jamiat Ulma-e-Pakistan (JUP). NPT Vice-Chairman Professor Dr Rafique Ahmed, JUP Supreme Council Chairman Pir Ijaz Hashmi, JUP Vice-President Shah Awais Norani, JUP Secretary General Qari Zawar Bahadur, JUP Punjab Chapter President Dr Javid Awan, Dr Javid Akhtar, Pir Hasnain Farooq and others were present on the occasion.

“Maulana Abdul Sattar being a class-fellow and friend of my elder brother late Hameed Nizami was also like my brother. I used to go to his home and have great respect for him,” said Majid Nizami, telling participants that he also used to go to the residence of late Maulana Shah Ahmed Noorani in Karachi. The need was to continue the mission of great scholars instead of sitting home, he urged upon the leaders of late Maulana’s party.

Majid Nizami especially asked Shah Awais Norani to make JUP politically active and work to develop Pakistan as dreamt by Quaid-e-Azam and Allama Iqbal.

“You can not fulfil the dream of Maulana Abdul Sattar till reaching in assemblies,” he said. Dr Rafique, speaking on the occasion, also asked the scholars to play their active role to take Pakistan from the prevailing crises. Late Maulana had wished to establish a system like Khalaphat-e-Rashida in the country, he said.

Qari Zawar Bahadur said that the mission of NPT and JUP was the same, adding the time had come when ulema needed to play a role as was played during Pakistan Movement to save the country from its enemies inside and outside. He said some so-called scholars were making propaganda against Pakistan and its founder and hatching conspiracies against the sovereignty of the country. He said the JUP would not allow anyone to conspire against the country.

“I want to give those people a message not to conspire against Pakistan otherwise every person of the country will come on roads against them,” he warned.

On the occasion, Shah Awais Norani, Pir Ijaz Hashmi, Qari Zawar Bahadur congratulated and presented bouquet to Majid Nizami for his 50-year journalist services as editor of Nawa-i-Waqt Group.
