Mohsin ready to save sinking ship of Pakistan cricket

ISLAMABAD - Former Pakistan cricket team coach Mohsin Hasan Khan has submitted application to Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) for the post of head coach.
Talking to The Nation, Mohsin confirmed that he had submitted written application for the head coach post and added: “I have played my part of adopting the set procedure and I am quite confident that if the PCB takes my proven records in account. I have managed to beat top sides of the world with the help of my team. If I am given a chance, I will not let down the team, the PCB and the masses and I will put a new life in the same group of players.”
Mohsin further said: “I have taken best out of almost same bunch of players and I don't know what went wrong, why such high profile international coach failed to get best out of players. I don't blame players for ordinary results because it is the duty of the coaching staff to get best out of them.”
“I have advised the PCB to hire international fielding coach from Australia, South Africa or New Zealand, as they are best known for their fielding expertise,” he added.  The idea of conducting the summer camp impressed Mohsin but he was surprised with the inclusion some players in the list who really don’t deserve to be in the camp. “I was expecting the summer camp should have names like Hammad Azam and others, who are future of Pakistan cricket but the induction of many such players is just to oblige the blue-eyed. Four to five players in the announced camp are at the twilight of their careers, they need to be replaced not more than in a year time. I think it is grave injustice to the players, who have done exceptionally well in the domestic circuit, they feel let down, shattered and it will be very hard for them to repeat same level of performances next time around,” Mohsin concluded.
It is pertinent to mention here that Mohsin short stint both as chief selector and as head coach remained non-controversial and he was never involved in any incident, which could bring bad name for the country. Instead of hiring same old Waqar Younus, who left the team in the time of dire need, a person like Mohsin, who always remain committed to the team and the country and gave superb performances and that too against top teams, deserves better treatment.
