Murree to have multipurpose cinema, says Hamza

ISLAMABAD - The tourists' heaven, Murree, would have a cinema, a thing badly needed to entertain the ever-flooded hill station.
The government of Punjab has also strictly bound the District Coordinate Officer (DCO) Rawalpindi to clear the 48 sites of heaps of garbage in Murree through Rawalpindi Waste Management Company before the start of the peak season. These decisions were taken in a meeting chaired by MNA Hamza Shahbaz, The Nation learnt.
Hamza directed the secretary information to visit Murree along with leading cinema owners for construction of a multipurpose cinema for display of films and theatrical performances in the hilly city.
The meeting regarding Murree's development was attended by Raja Ashfaq Sarwar, Punjab minister for labour and manpower, MPA Ch Sarfraz Afzal, Rana Mashood Ahmad, Punjab minister for education, Mashal Khan, DG Pakistan Post, secretary information, secretary forest and DCO Rawalpindi under the Chair by Hamza Shahbaz in Lahore.
Hamza ordered the DCO to clean all 48 sites of garbage as soon as possible because the peak season in Murree will start by mid-May and Punjab government cannot afford that tourists face the hurdles in the city.
He ordered the local administration to facilitate the tourists who come to Murree from across the country and abroad.
He said administration should also take preemptive measures to avoid any untoward incident in the hilly station and that an emergency centre should also be established.
