RAWALPINDI - Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif on Saturday attended the funeral prayers of Captain Qasim who embraced martyrdom while fighting valiantly against terrorists in Tirah valley of Khyber Agency.

According to Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), the Army Chief paid rich tributes to brave Qasim for his sacrifice.

In an apparent move to boost the morale of security forces in the fight against terrorists, Gen. Raheel Sharif laid floral wreath at grave of Capt Qasim.

“General Raheel and Qasim’s father reiterated resolve to continue fight till elimination of last terrorist from the Pakistani soil at any cost,” Director General ISPR Maj. Gen Asim Bajwa said in a tweet posted on Saturday.

The funeral prayers were offered at Race Course Ground in garrison Rawalpindi.
