13 artists show beauty of art under one roof

LAHORE - A group art show featuring work of 13 artists opened at Ejaz Art Gallery on Tuesday. The show displayed diversity regarding mediums and executional skills, ranging installations, modern sculptures and paintings.

The show featured artworks of Amina Cheema, Asad Ali Abid, Baneen Nazir, Bushra Khalid, Dure Nayab, Fawad Kashif, Haroon Rauf Mughal, Iqra Ayyaz, Istrahat W. Bhatty, Nasir Nirwan, Sundas Rafi, Sumera Jawad and Ume Laila.  Talking to The Nation, Nasir Nirwan said, “My work draws strong inspiration from raw, unaltered beauty of nature that the artist experienced in Karbath. My art form is an exploration of clean colour and textures, which have collected into glass bottles. My work symbolizes the authority and power of nature that always can dominate all senses and shades of the man.

Describing her work Umme Laila said, “My work addresses the demarcation and segregations associated with the daily human life. It is a game of freedom and limitations. Each piece is designed to function like a chunk from a puzzle.”

Haroon Rauf Mughal said, “My inspiration as a visual artist and moreso as professional framer is to provide that uncertain yet plausible, undependable yet frequent, rare yet imaginable lens through which the viewer can explore reinvention of the predictable and experience rebirth of reality.”

Istrahat W Bhatti said that from the Urban Hundrum into the pocket of nature, I came across and discovered the usual and unconventional experience of serene ambience at Karbath.

The exposure to nature in its raw state enhanced my concentration level, which marked a productive impact on my mind. The invented and reinvented relationship with the elements of nature infused in me the urge to visualize and practice meditation.
