OUR STAFF REPORTER GUJRANWALA - As many as 19,128 criminal cases have been lodged during the first nine months of the current year, of which the police could only managed to submit challans of 7,998 cases in courts while 11,130 are still pending in the police stations. According to sources at District Prosecution Office, 30 police stations of the district failed to submit a large number of challans which ultimately tantamount to denying justice to thousands of citizens. According to detail, PS Jinnah Road failed to submit 204 cases, PS Garjakh 309 cases, Kot Ladha 80 cases, Tatlay Aali 249 cases, PS City 171 cases, PS Satellite Town 367 cases, PS Khiali Shahpur 63 cases, PS Ferozwala 115 cases, PS Saddar 444 cases, PS Aroop 366 cases, PS Model Town 672 cases, PS Ladhewala 220 cases, PS Saddar Kamoke 322 cases, PS Baghbanpura 225 cases, PS Peoples Colony 402 cases, PS Noshera Virkan 297 cases, PS Sabzi Mandi 415 cases, PS Civil Lines 728 cases, PS Wahndo 224 cases, PS Dhullay 297 cases, PS Qila Dedar Singh 306 cases, PS Eimanabad 273 cases, PS City Kamoke 249 cases, PS Cantt 410 cases, PS City Wazirabad 97 cases, PS Saddar Wazirabad 160 cases, PS Gakhar Mandi 133 cases, PS Sohdrah 22 cases, PS Ahmad Nagar 94 cases and PS Alipur Chattha 124 cases. District Public Prosecutor Nisar Ahmad Gondal expressed deep concern over delay of submission of challans in the courts and added that incomplete and arrogantly prepared challans often become denial of justice to victims. He said that the worse condition was being brought in the notice of Punjab Prosecutor General Lahore, Gujranwala SSP Investigations, Secretary Law and District and Session Judge Gujranwala.
