OUR STAFF REPORTER GUJRAT - PPP Parliamentarian Samina Fakhar Pagganwala said that 2012 would be the year of general elections, adding that her party would steer the country out of crises and serve the nation. Talking to journalists at the Gujrat Press Club, she said that the PPP was serving the people by initiating development projects to reduce their sufferings. She added that the Pagganwala family would extend its all-out support to President Asif and Bilawal Bhutto Zardari. To a question regarding the removal of her husband from the districts general secretary slot, she said that her family had no objection at all as the slots were the decisions of the party and she and her husband would continue to serve the party as workers whereas the resignations of other office bearers of were the their individual decisions and they did pressured any one. She added that she would contest next elections from NA-105 and PP-111. Former general secretary of PPP Gujrat chapter, Main Fakhar Pagganwala said on the occasion that he wanted to make it explicit that none of the PPP stalwarts had facilitated Samina Fakhar Pagganwala for securing the slot of MNA as it was widely believed because she was given the honour by late Benazir Bhutto. Later, GPC President Syed Waqar Gillani with other office bearers presented a shield to Ms Samina. General Secretary Abdul Sattar Mirza, Senior Vice President Arshad Butt, PPP workers and office bearers were also present.
