Our Staff reporter DASKA - Gujranwala Regional Police Officer (RPO) Ahmed Mubarak Ahmed has said that the objective of holding open courts is to resolve the public grievances promptly and ensure timely justice dispensation. The holding of open courts also aims at collecting positive public suggestions to improve police performance and materialise the dream of the betterment of society through the positive criticism on police. He stated this while addressing the participants of an open court held here at Daska Civil rest House Wednesday after noon. Sialkot DPO Bilal Sadiq Kamiyana, DSP Daska Rana M Sarwar, Chairman District Peace Committee Qari M Ashraf, Allama Qari Khalid Mehmood, President Daska Bar Association Muhammad Asif Bajwa, Maulana Abdul Ghaffar, Chairman Arbitrary Committee Daska Khalid Mehmood Cheema, Zafar Iqbal Butt , President Daska Industrial and Engineering Association Zahid Hussain, lawyers, traders, Ulema and notables of the area also attended the open court. The RPO said that the implication of innocent people in cases was great injustice and people should avoid this malpractice. The RPO emphasised that the police should not abuse its powers and utilize all energies and resources for ensuring early and smooth provision of justice to the oppressed and needy people. He argued that the police should not accept any pressure as undue pressure always breeds injustice. He claimed that active mutual cooperation between the police and public was vital for curbing the menace of the crime and creation of a peaceful society. He said that the elimination of corruption and touts was the top priority and the asked the police officials to adopt leniency, morality and good attitude towards the needy, poor and oppressed people. The RPO pledged positive steps to restore the confidence of the public in the Police, besides, ensuring early implementation on various police-public friendly policies and proposals.
