Excuses and more excuses

Our Minister’s for Information have generally been seen to lack information. To twist the constitution of Pakistan and laws to suit one’s own personal ideas has emerged as the norm since PPP came to power making truth reprehensible. Qamar Zaman Kaira, the present Minister for Information, appeared on a show on a private TV Channel on October 25, in which he tried to defend the President on holding two offices. Somehow the logic he put forth, that the President is an elected person from a political party holds no water.
His answer does not conform to what the Constitution says. It says that the President will not involve himself in politics when he is holding the office of President of Pakistan. He acts on behalf of the State and not any political party. This happens in all democratic countries of the World. The anchor failed to question him on why the President called a meeting in Islamabad consisting of politicians from Sindh regarding the dreadful conditions of law and order there. I would like to ask, is there no other authority in Karachi from the federation to handle these issues? Where is the CM Sind and PM Pakistan? Above all he has the Governor, who represents the federation? Have all of them been neutralised?
The disease of distortion of truth has long been detected in politicians all over the world, but our politicians have taken the lead; they try and present issues to suit their political whims. It is a tragic trend and we all hope that Allah will be kind and give us a few honest persons, who care what is happening to our mother land.
