Islamabad - Chairman Capital Development Authority (CDA), Maroof Afzal, chaired a high-level meeting at CDA headquarters on Sunday to review the arrangements for facilitating the participants of the processions of Muharram in the federal capital.

The chairman was apprised that in order to make routes of Muharram processions safe and avoid any inconvenience, trees on the routes had been trimmed and shrubs and bushes had also been removed whereas cleanliness of nullahs in the vicinity and routes of religious gatherings had also been ensured. He was informed that necessary repair work on the routes of processions had been completed and all the streetlights on the routes and around the Imambargahs had been made fully functional to provide proper light during night time.

Director municipal administration informed the chairman that the teams of the directorate were consistently checking that wall chalking or banners with hatred material were not placed in the city. The CDA is in close liaison with district administration and all other concerned departments to ensure the availability of facilities to the participants of processions of Muharram, the meeting was told.
