Lahore- Two Close Circuit Television (CCTV) cameras installed at the Wagah border crossing were found out of order following Sunday’s deadly suicide blast which left nearly 60 people dead, local media quoting sources reported today.

According to sources, the authorities failed to obtain CCTV footage of the incident today owing to two faulty surveillance cameras. Administration of the border check-post was informed about error in CCTV cameras, however, no action was taken in this regard, sources said, adding that reason of the error was not known.

Officials said they were trying to obtain footage from other cameras installed nearby check-posts. The explosion, which left 55 dead and wounded more than 120, came at Wagah border gate near Lahore after the "flag-lowering" ceremony, a display of military pageantry that attracts thousands of spectators every day and is popular with foreign tourists.
