Federal Minister for Defence, Water and Power Khawaja Muhammad Asif on Sunday claimed that the nation had rejected the dharna politics, saying that now the masses were ready to halt the way of those who were doing negative politics and misleading the masses in the county.
Talking to the party workers and local notables here on Sunday, Kh Asif said that defence of Pakistan was in very strong hands as the PMLN government had made the national defence impregnable. “Armed forces of Pakistan fully capable to defend every inch of the motherland and give a befitting response to any misadventure,” he pointed out.
Kh Asif revealed that days were not far off when the dreams of national progress, development and economical stability would come true.
The federal minister said that dharna politics mislead the nation and badly disappointed the masses, adding that the country could only be made progressive through real sustainable democracy.
He declared that Pakistan always wanted durable peace with neighbours and would spare no effort for sustainable peace in the region, adding that the wish for peace should not be taken as weakness as Pakistan deemed prosperity could come only through peace.
Local MPAs including Mansha Ullah Butt, Ch Muhammad Ikram and Ch Mohsin Ashraf, PML-N leaders Idrees Ahmed Bajwa, Mehmoodul Hassan, Babar Khan, Shujaat Ali Pasha and others were also present on the occasion.
Continuity of policies vital for stability: Ahsan
Federal Minister for Planning and Development Ch Ehsan Iqbal has said that the continuity of government’s policies was vital for political and economic stability of the county.
He stated this while addressing the participants of an important meeting of local lawyers held at District Bar Association (DBA) Narowal here.
MPA Khawaja Waseem Butt, Narowal DBA President Farooq Umer Akbar, General Secretary Rana Kanwar Tahir Yaseen and DCO Syed Najaf Iqbal were also present on the occasion.
The federal minister strongly criticized the PTI and said that the PTI was spreading negative politics in the country, expressing his surprise that on the one hand the PTI was opposing the current democratic dispensation while remaining part of this system.
He urged the PTI leadership to make new Khyber Pakhtunkhawah (KP) first before making a new Pakistan.
Ehsan Iqbal pledged that the government would to leave any stone unturned for eliminating backwardness of Narowal district. He revealed that the government would soon acquire more than 100 acres of land in surroundings of Narowal for the early establishment of campus of University of Gujrat (UoG). He claimed that the UoG campus in the district would open up new vistas of higher education for local students at their threshold.
