The commuters have been suffering great ordeal in getting petrol and diesel as most of owners of the filling stations in Sialkot, Daska, Sambrial, Chawinda, Badiana, Pasrur and surrounding areas on Sunday refused to sell petrol and diesel on the reduced prices. They simply displayed placards inscribed with “petrol and diesel are not available.”
The sale of petrol and diesel remained suspended at most of the filing stations in district, following reasonable reduction in the POL prices announced by the government.
Long queues of vehicles were witnessed at various filling station in and around the city and other areas, seeking petrol due to non-availability of CNG.
They expressed grave concern over the critical situation and urged the government to ensure availability of POL products on reduced rates in the district.
Imam Sahib urs celebrations begin: The four-day celebrations of 678th annual Urs of prominent religious saint Hazrat Imam Aliul Haq (RA) began here on Sunday.
Hundreds of thousands of devotees from across the country are participating in the Urs celebrations. Mihaafil-e-Hussan-e-Qiraat, Naat, and Sammaa were also held in which Qura, Naat Khwans and Qawaals from across the country participated.
Prominent religious saint Hazrat Imam Aliul Haq spread the light of Islam in Sialkot region by motivating hundreds of non-believers through his Islamic teachings to embrace Islam. He made hundreds of thousands of non-believers as Muslims before the creation of Pakistan.
While addressing the devotees, MNAs - Sahibzada Syed Iftikharul Hassan Shah, Ch Armughan Subhani, local MPAs - Mansha Ullah Butt, Ch Muhammad Ikram, Sialkot DCO Nadeem Sarwar and religious scholars paid homage to Hazrat Imam Aliul Haq (RA) for his unmatched and meritorious services for Islam. They urged people to follow in the footsteps of the saint for success in the life and hereafter.
