MUZAFFARGARH (STAFF REPORTER): The law enforcement agencies (LEAs) along with police held flag marches in different parts of the district to show their strength and preparedness against miscreants during Muharram.

The Pakistan Rangers has deployed its troops in various sensitive areas of the district to maintain peace and harmony during Muharramul Haram .The Rangers troops along with police carried out flag marches. They were also accompanied by the representatives of administration and Rescue 15 in the march. The Flag march started from Police Lines and culminated at the same point after passing through Chowk Kutchery, Jhang More, Purani Chungi, Khanpur Bagha Shar, Murabadad, Rangpur, Chowk Sarwar Shaheed, Dera Din Phanah, Kot Addu, Mehmood Kot, Chowk Qureshi, Shahjamal, Jatoi, Alipur and Shar Sultan etc.

A demonstration regarding Muharram duty was also held at the base camp where Rangers jawans showed different skills of handling any untoward situation during mourning processions. He said the purpose of the flag march was to show preparations of the police during the Ashura. All the SHOs of 21 police station and SDPOs of the district were also present.

PROTEST AGAINST DRONES: More than hundred people gathered at Chowk Qanwan to protest against the US drone strikes and threatened to continue their demonstration until the attacks were ended.  The Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf workers led by it leader Nawabzada Mansoor Ahmed Khan took out the protest rally wherein they burnt the US flag to express their anger.

The speakers said that American drone attacks were brutally extended to the settled areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and if this was not noticed and properly reacted then such attacks could also be made in any part of the country.

They said that the PML-N government was doing nothing on its part to stop drone attacks and the protest against the strikes would continue indefinitely. They said that apart from issuing condemnation statements, nothing concrete had been done to put end to drone attacks.
