HAFIZABAD - As many as 4,500 growers have been disbursed Rs313 million as interest free loan to maximize Kharif crop while registration for provision of Rs25,000 per acre interest free loan for forthcoming Rabi Crop across the district is underway at a brisk pace.
Deputy Director Agriculture Mehar Rab Nawaz stated at the meeting of District Agricultural Advisory Committee held here with the Deputy Commissioner in the chair. On the occasion, DC Allah Ditta Warraich advised the Agriculture Department officers to ensure provision of quality seeds, fertilisers and agricultural medicines to control pests and take all-out measures to protect rights of the growers. He also directed them to take stern action against the dealers selling sub-standard fertilisers and seeds. The Deputy Director Agriculture informed the participants that the warehouse of a fertilizer dealer on Madhrianwala road has been sealed for selling fake fertilizer and an FIR has been registered against him. He assured that crackdown on the dealers selling sub-standard fertilisers and seed would continue without any fear or favour.
