LAHORE - Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has said the Pakistan Muslim League-N government has promoted a new trend of completing development projects with transparency and high-standards.
“It is satisfying the government has spread a network of development projects during the last four years and a large number of the people are benefiting from the mega projects. As a result of successful policies of the government, the country has put on road to development and prosperity,” the CM told his party workers in London.
According to a handout issued here, Shehbaz said: “China has made a gigantic investment of more than 60 billion dollars in Pakistan under the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and this has opened new avenues of prosperity in the country. CPEC is a splendid project of the prosperity of people of Pakistan. CPEC has become a game-changer for the country which will also give benefit to the region as well. That is why; other friendly countries have also desired to be included in this project.”
He said zero-tolerance policy has been adopted against corruption by the government. “Our hands are fully clean and no allegation of any corruption has been proved. The international agencies have also acknowledged the rising trend of transparency in Pakistan,” the CM added.
He said the PML-N government is rapidly moving towards fulfillment of promises made with the people. He said that PML-N shall fulfill the objectives of creation of Pakistan at every cost and selfless services to the people will be made till the last breath.
The Chief Minister said that an attempt was made to stop the process of public welfare through sit-in and due to the stubbornness of these elements, people suffered badly as a result of the delay in development projects. He said the nation that was suffering from difficulties would have been accommodated if these elements had behaved rationally for the sake of the country, but these elements made a cruelty with the nation just to gain some personal interests. The elements who are enemies to the development of the country will have to face the consequences of public wrath in the elections of 2018. He said that national interest has been damaged due to the politics of falsehood, anarchy and baseless allegations. It is a cruel joke to prioritize personal interests over the national interests. The elements increasing the difficulties of the people are worried due to the rapid pace of development of the country. The country is moving from darkness to lights and this has made the opponents unnerved. He said the politics of deceit, chaos and baseless allegations have to be curbed to move the country on the road to prosperity. The state of Pakistan belongs to all of us and we shall have to work jointly to put it on the road to development. Selfless service to the people and bringing qualitative improvement in the lives of the indigent strata is our agenda and midnight oil has been burnt to complete this mission of public service, he added.
