LAHORE - A 23-year-old Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) suffered multiple wounds when some dacoits opened indiscriminate fires on him in the wee hours on Saturday in Islampura police precincts. Police investigators said that the victim ASI Kashif, a resident of street No-1, Ibraheem Colony, was on his way to home while riding on a bike after discharging his duties in Shahdara police station. Two unidentified accused signalled him to stop and later opened fires on him when he reached at Outfall Road as a result of which he sustained severe injuries, a senior police officer said. Islampura police after being informed reached the spot and shifted him to the Mayo Hospital where his condition was told out to be a danger. The accused however managed to flee from the crime scene. No case was registered against anyone with no arrest so far. Further investigation is underway.
