Musharraf calls Nawaz 'brainless'

LONDON - Former dictator Pervez Musharraf, in his first public meeting in Birmingham UK, after he announced the creation of All Pakistan Muslim League, disclosed that the joint communique drafted after Indian premier Atal Bihari Vajapyees visit to Lahore on Nawaz Sharifs invitation, did not carry a word about Kashmir. When I asked him about it, Nawaz Sharif replied that Vajpayee would not sign the communiquT if Kashmir was mentioned. At this I said that he should better go back if he does so, was Musharrafs continued disclosure. Accounting for his role as President, he said that he had clearly told Manmohan Singh that peace could not be achieved unless Kashmir issue was solved and that he had made Manmohan to bring it in black and white. None worked for Kashmir cause as he did, he claimed. He called Nawaz Sharif brainless and opined that he would ruin the country if he became Prime Minister for the third term. He called PML-N a family Party. Pervez Musharraf swore an oath that he had no knowledge of Dr Aafias arrest and being handed over to the US, Pervez Musharraf said that those who were passing remarks against him outside the National Assembly, in fact, did not know that the people had been fed up with the stereotyped faces of politicians. He pleaded for right of vote for overseas Pakistanis. Meanwhile, former Presidents Birmingham meeting fell into consternation when an old activist of Hizb-ul-Tehrir interrupted him and demanded Islamic system in Pakistan, at the same time protesting against Dr Aafias handing over to America. At this Musharraf vowed to make Pakistan a modern Islamic state. The security people caught hold of the protester and pushed him out of the Hall while Musharraf called him 'misguided people. Meanwhile, former President Musharraf on Saturday, paid a visit to the largest mosque of Europe known as Jamae Masjid Ghamkol Sharif, to see Sufi Muhammad Abdullah, the deputy of the famous spiritual personality Pir Sahib of Khamkole Sharif. He was received there by chairman of the confederation of Sunni mosques of UK Raja Saleem Akhtar. Musharraf kept with Suif Abdullah for 45 minutes and saw different parts of the glorious mosque.
