Two settlers shot dead

QUETTA - Two settlers were shot dead after being kidnapped in Harnai district of Balochistan on Saturday. According to sources, unidentified people kidnapped two persons identified as Mobin Ahmed and Manzoor Ahmed from Shahrag area of Harnai district, some 130 km in the northeast of Quetta, who were working at a petrol pump. The kidnappers later shot them dead and threw their bodies in an isolated place. Sources said that hands and feet of the victims had been tied up. The deceased belonged to Bahawalpur. Levies sources said that the incident seemed to be an incident of target killing and investigations were underway. Levies handed over the bodies to heirs after completing legal formalities and started further investigation. In another incident, a man was killed in a hand grenade attack in Mastung. Sources said that unidentified people riding a motorbike hurled a hand grenade at shop of cable operator located in Mastung Bazaar and escaped from the site after committing the crime. Grenade landed inside the shop with a big bang. As a result, a person identified as Maulah Bakhsh, a resident of Mastung sustained multiple wounds and died before reaching the hospital. Soon after the incident, police reached the site and cordoned off the area. The blast damaged the shop and scattered windowpanes of nearby shops. No group has claimed responsibility for the attacks. Meanwhile, an explosive device planted by unidentified people with under-construction Levis station in Awaran exploded and damaged the walls of the building. However, no loss of life was reported in the blast.
