Six shops blown up in Lower Dir

LOWER DIR - Six computer and mobile phone shops were completely destroyed and five others were damaged partially when unknown miscreants blew up explosive devices planted at a market in Kumbar Maidan Bazaar, Lower Dir district, on Sunday, police and residents told. Sources said that militants also attacked a temporary post of police at Kumbar and exchange of fire continued for some time in the wee hours on Sunday. However the miscreants escaped the scene when police retaliated. There was no report about casualties. The attackers then exploded planted bombs at a local market and destroyed four shops. The personnel of law enforcement agencies cordoned off the area and started search operation soon after the incident. However no arrest was made till filing of this report. The damaged shops were owned by Samiullah, Ghulam Rahman, Inam Khan and Akbar Khan. The incident spread a sense of fear in the area.
