All decisions at Ogra taken according to law

ISLAMABAD - Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority on Thursday claimed that it takes decisions and performs functions strictly by the law without any fear and favour and also independent of any external influence.
The Authority has vehemently denounced impression created by some news in a section of press that the Ogra was under some influence to determine revenues of the state-owned gas utilities. All determinations are done strictly by the laws, rules and regulations, the release said. The handout further said that the appointment of the Chairman and that of the Members is the exclusive purview of the Federal Government. Therefore efforts to allege that there was any linkage of certain appointments to the functions of the Authority was unethical, and uncalled for.
The spokesman said that the issue of Unaccounted for Gas (UfG) benchmark will be dealt with as per policy guidelines of the Federal Government read with the relevant provisions of the Ogra Ordinance.
