Rrawalpindi -  A folk dance competition among school students of Rawalpindi and Islamabad was organised by the Rawalpindi Arts Council here on Thursday to highlight and promote culture of all provinces of Pakistan.

MNA Tahira Aurangzeb flanked by Naheed Manzoor and Resident Director RAC Waqar Ahmed was the chief guest on the occasion while Iqbal Tabbasum and Ishaq Saqi adjudged the competition.

It was a colourful event highlighting the beautiful rich culture of Pakistan. The students of Anglo-Arab School presented the folk culture of all five provinces of Pakistan with colour traditional dresses. Spangle School children received appreciation by presenting Sindhi culture with blend of Sufism. Divisional Public School presented KP culture wearing black dresses and traditional Peshawari Chappal. Similarly Punjabi, Balochi, Sindhi, Pakhtun, Gilgit and Kahsmiri culture with folk dances were presented.

The winner of first position will be sent to Lahore for All Punjab Folk Dance competition in November. Anglo-Arab School secured first position, Spangle School got second, Divisional Public School bagged third while Leading Public School remained fourth.
