Islamabad - In a fresh round of campaign against substandard food in the capital, the local administration on Friday sealed a number of food outlets in the area of Jinnah Super Market in Sector F-7.
Assistant Commissioner City Kamran Cheema visited different food outlets in the area and found a number of hotels and restaurants serving substandard food items to customers. The AC sealed Kabuli restaurant, Hill View Hotel, Americano Steak and Super Ice Cream Parlor. He also sealed Chinese Restaurant in Centauras over improper sanitation arrangements and also imposed fine of Rs30,000 on KFC in Centauras. The AC collectively imposed Rs0.45 million fine on 11 outlets.
Meanwhile, Aabpara police booked husband of a woman who died due to consumption of abortion pills. According to the police, brother of Ghazala approached the police to state that his brother-in-law Agha Amjad Ali and some others forced his sister to use abortion pills which caused her death. Earlier, the police on the complaint of Amjad Ali had booked Shahnaz Gul, Pakeeza, Mahmooda Israr and Rizwan under the same charges. However, the brother of the deceased also got booked his brother-in-law over the same offence. Police is investigating the matter. Furthermore, Islamabad police have nabbed a proclaimed offender after police encounter and also held eight other outlaws in possession of narcotics, weapons and looted items, a police spokesman said yesterday. On a tip off regarding the presence of a proclaimed offender Qamar Mukhtar alias Sain Qamar at Chani Moso Stop in a vehicle (JZ-734) wanted by Koral and Loi Bher police stations, a police team raided the spot.
Qamar Mukhtar along with his accomplices sped towards `Ghora Mast’ area and started firing on police team after leaving the vehicle. However, police team succeeded to overpower the absconders through retaliating fire and recovered two pistols from Qamar Mukhtar and his accomplice Shah.
Meanwhile, Bhara Kau police nabbed Yunus for having 32-bore pistol while Qaisar was held by Margalla police in possession of liquor. Khanna police nabbed drug pusher Mustansar Sohail and recovered 1.110 kilogram hashish from him while Sarfraz was held over charges of rash driving. Nilor police apprehended Rizwan in possession of 30-bore pistol. Sub-Inspector Muhammad Ashfaq from Women police station arrested Faisal, Imran Masih and Shehzad in possession of 215 gram heroin and 10 liter wine.
