ISLAMABAD - Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) wants to debate in the National Assembly the alleged fake electricity shortfall, which compelled consumers to pay billions of rupees. The PPP yesterday submitted an adjournment motion in the National Assembly Secretariat that the electricity shortfall was artificially created in the country. This negligence of the Ministry of Water and Power caused to pay billions of rupees, according to the motion submitted to the NA Secretariat by PPP lawmakers.–Our Staff Reporter

It was also mentioned in the motion that line losses were also far beyond the allowed limit thus it made the consumers to pay extra bills. “We (PPP MNAs) request that the proceedings of the house be adjourned to discuss the abysmal performance of the ministry as revealed in the annual report of NEPRA,” said PPP MNAs Naveed Qamar, Dr. Nafisa Shah, Shazia Mari, Beelum Husnain and Imran Zafar Laghari in a motion.
