PTI CRIES FOUL AT ROS: PTI District Organiser Ch Shoukat Ali Bhatti come down hard on some Returning Officers, who he said, are working on the behest of the Punjab Chief Minister, State Minister Saira Afzal Tarar and her father Ch Afzal Hussain Tarar. He alleged that “these RO” have rejected unlawfully the nomination papers of some important PTI candidates.

He particularly referred to the rejection of nomination paper of Ch Mamoon Jaffer Tarar who filed his nomination paper to contest for the slot of Chairman Union Council Kolo Tarar against Ch Afzal Hussain Tarar. He had attached ‘Fard’ (ownership deed) issued by the Land Record Computerised Information Centre, which is functioning under the Assistant Commissioner Hafizabad, showing ownership of 476 canal of land but Afzal Tarar group in collusion with the Assistant Commissioner and the staff got his ‘Fard’ on September 30, showing his ownership of 488 canal land. On this very basis, the Returning Officer / Assistant Commissioner Umar Farooq Warraich in order to please Afzal Hussain Tarar rejected his nomination paper, to pave the way of unopposed victory of Ch Afzal Hussain Tarar.

He said that under the present circumstances, they have come to the conclusion that the upcoming Local Government election would not be fair and impartial. He regretted that the ROs are making mockery of law and are ensuring selection instead of election. He, however, declared that the PTI would not boycott the election and approach the higher courts to get justice.
