Three schoolchildren including two siblings yesterday were crushed to death by a speeding tractor-trolley on Bhakkar-Karor Road. The ill-fated students were on the way to school... Commander Public School... on foot early Friday morning.

The schoolchildren were crossing the road when the rashly-driven tractor-trolley ran over them. The deceased students were identified as Class-III student Ishrat, her brother Class-V student Muhammad Raees and Class-VI student Muhammad Zeehan.

The incident sparked a protest by the students and staff of Commander Public School and other schools in the proximity. They blocked Bhakkar Road against the runaway tractor driver and police. On information, the police rushed to the scene and brought the situation under control. The Karor Police have registered a case against the fleeing tractor driver Muhammad Asim.

Principle Commander Public School said that there are a number of drivers who neither have driving licence, no proper training that’s cause accidents. He demanded the traffic police and the district government take strict action against drivers, plying on road without driving licence.

Meanwhile, an 18-year-old Intermediate student Muhammad Hassan Sehar committed suicide. According to his parents, they scolded Hassan over bad habits. However, in sheer disappointment he ended his life by consuming poisonous pills on Friday, they added.
