German Ambassador to Pakistan Martin Kobler on Wednesday called on the Interior Minister Shehryar Khan Afridi and discussed matters of mutual interest.

Talking to the ambassador, the minister said that Pakistan and its people have given huge sacrifices in war against terrorism, something that the entire world should acknowledge. “Pakistan and Germany enjoy historic relations,” he said.

“The minister added that Pakistan has suffered the most in the war against terror,” he said. Afridi also said that the national interest the government’s top priority.

Shehryar Afridi said that there would be no compromise on national interest and security, and added by saying that Pakistan has been playing its role for peace in the world.

The minister said that in this era of globalization, decisions of any country affect the entire world. Moreover, he said that the government was working on Madrissa reforms so that the students of madaris can get knowledge through modern education.

“Overseas Pakistanis are an asset of the country and have been playing a vital role in economic development,” he said. The German ambassador appreciated efforts of Pakistan for peace and security.
