ISLAMABAD - The federal government has appointed senior bureaucrat Yousuf Naseem Khokhar as Punjab Chief Secretary and Establishment Division issued the notification in this regard.

The federal government also ordered the outgoing Chief Secretary Akbar Hussain Durrani to report to the Establishment Division.

According to the notification, "Yousuf Naseem Khokhar, a grade-22 officer of Pakistan Administrative Service presently posted as Secretary Interior Division is transferred and posted as Chief Secretary Government of Punjab with immediate effect and until further orders."

The notification further said: "Akbar Hussain Durrani, a grade-22 officer of PAS presently posted as Chief Secretary, Government of Punjab is transferred and directed to report to Establishment Division for further posting."

Major (retd) Azam Suleman Khan, a grade-22 officer has been posted as Secretary Interior. The notification says: "Azam Suleman Khan presently awaiting posting in the Establishment Division is transferred and posted as Secretary Interior Division with immediate effect and until further orders. The Division's notification of even number dated 27-09-2018 whereby the officer was posted as Secretary Climate Change Division is hereby withdrawn ab-initio."

Eerier, the Establishment Division moved a summary of three names to Prime Minister Office for the appointment of Punjab chief secretary.
